What is the travel credit?
The Chase Sapphire Reserve travel credit is a great benefit for cardholders who love to travel. Here’s how it works: every year, you’ll receive a $300 credit that can be used towards travel expenses such as airfare, hotels, car rentals, and more. Simply charge your travel expenses to your card and the credit will be applied automatically.
How do you use the travel credit?
To use your travel credit, simply book your travel through Chase Ultimate Rewards®. You can book online through the Chase Ultimate Rewards® website or through the Chase Ultimate Rewards® app. You can also book by phone.
What are some examples of travel expenses that qualify for the credit?
There are a few different types of expenses that will qualify for the credit. Some of the most common include airfare, hotels, and rental cars. You can also use the credit for things like cruises, tours, and excursions. Basically, if it’s a travel expense that you wouldn’t normally put on a credit card, it will probably qualify for the credit.
How often can you use the travel credit?
You can use the $300 travel credit on the Chase Sapphire Reserve card as many times as you want during the year, but you can only use it for travel expenses. Travel expenses are defined as airfare, hotels, car rentals, and more. You can also use the travel credit to offset the cost of using your points to book travel through Chase’s Ultimate Rewards portal.
Does the travel credit expire?
No, the travel credit does not expire. You can use it at any time during your membership year.
What if you don’t use all of your travel credit in a year?
The great thing about the Sapphire Reserve’s travel credit is that it’s flexible. You don’t have to spend it all in one go, or even in one year. If you don’t use all of your travel credit in a year, it will carry over to the next year.
How do you know how much travel credit you have left?
A helpful way to think of the travel credit is like a reset button for your account. Every calendar year, you’re able to receive up to $300 in travel credits that you can use towards any eligible travel expenses. This means that if you spend $300 or more on travel in a single year, you’ll effectively be able to offset the cost of your travel completely!
To keep track of how much credit you have left, simply log in to your Chase online account and navigate to the “Rewards” tab. Here, you’ll be able to see all of your current rewards as well as a breakdown of your travel credit balance.
What happens if you cancel your trip?
If you cancel your trip, you will not receive a refund for the travel credit. However, you may be able to use the credit towards a future trip.
Can you use the travel credit for business travel?
Yes, you can use the travel credit for business travel. You will need to keep track of your expenses and submit them for reimbursement.
What else do you need to know about the travel credit?
To start, the travel credit is not automatic. You have to manually activate it in your account each year, and then you can use it for travel purchases made within the next 12 months. Once you’ve used up the credit, you won’t be able to use it again until you re-activate it the following year.
Furthermore, the credit can only be used for “qualified” travel expenses. This includes things like airfare, hotels, rental cars, and even some public transportation costs. It does not include things like dining out or shopping while on vacation.
Finally, it’s important to note that the credit is subject to change at any time. Chase could decide to discontinue it or change the terms of how it works, so it’s always a good idea to check in on your account periodically to make sure nothing has changed.
